Treasure Village Montessori

Treasure Village Montessori School has a rich history rooted in the vision of local parents and community members who sought to provide an exceptional educational opportunity for children in the Upper Florida Keys. Established in 1998 as a K-3 program serving 60 students, TVM was founded as a public charter school with a clear mission: to offer a tuition-free, geographically accessible Montessori education that goes beyond traditional subjects.

Driven by a commitment to embrace the Montessori philosophy and provide a comprehensive academic experience, TVM has expanded its program over the years. Today, we proudly serve students from VPK through 8th grade, welcoming an enrollment of 215 students. With an unwavering dedication to empowering education, Treasure Village Montessori continues to shape the minds and futures of our students, fostering a love for learning and preparing them for success in an ever-changing world.

Montessori schools are based on the educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century. The Montessori approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activities, and mixed-age classrooms, where children are encouraged to explore their interests and develop at their own pace. Montessori schools often have a child-centered environment with specially designed materials to aid in the learning process.
