Eddie and Tatum from KidZone took over hosting duties for our coverage of Holiday Fest 2023, presented by the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce. The girls started off their coverage with Randall from BeTheShow.com and at the face painting booth where Aranya and Sunshine were doing face painting and temporary tattoos. Then it was off to enjoy snow cones and then donuts from Joe’s Mini Donuts. (KidZone policy allows for overindulging during events). Then the girls watched some of the dancing and then they were just going to WATCH the parade when their manager asked them if they would like to be IN the parade and they said “Sure”.
So their manager went to the parade setup and looked for a good float for the girls to ride on, but didn’t want to ask schools or group floats as it might throw off their plans. Then he saw a nice boat from Boat World and asked if the girls could hitch a ride. The head guy, Jeremy said, “no problem”. This turned out to be great because the girls especially hit it off with Em from Boat World, who did a really amazing job portraying Rudolph.
After the parade, the girls went to the Arts and Crafts booth and then to a tent where they met the Author, Holly Joy Eddleston. Holly Joy Eddleston has written two books and donates the proceeds to causes in the Keys. Tatum was super excited to meet her as Tatum had read one of Hollys books last year and loved it.
Holiday Fest is a great annual event and we recommend it to every one.
Don’t miss it next year, the girls will see you there!
